Motion Design

This short program covers graphic design within the context of motion graphics such as film, video, digital and analog animation. Throughout its six offered courses from 3 different majors (Graphic Design, Radio / TV, and Communication Arts), TV Production and Motion Design prepares attendees to handle filmed and animated media projects for film, tv, and rich web.

GDES270 Design Software I

“Design Software I” is a technical course covering two main software: Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator. Throughout this course, attendees cover: image composition and manipulation, raster-based effect, retouching, and digital photo editing. Attendees are also introduced to vector based graphics; drawing, designing with typography, creating layouts, generating graphical content.

COMM325 Animation Software

“Animation Software” covers the basics of animation ranging from analog to digital. Throughout this course, attendees acquire basic animation skills such as stop motion, generating motion graphics with Adobe After Effects, and Sound editing with Adobe Audition. At the end of the course, attendees will be able to generate essential motion graphics for television; Habillage, introduction, animated infographics …etc.

COMM225 Workshop

“Workshop” is an entry-level course introducing the fundamentals of video making. Attendees will learn to use video and sound like an effective form of communication, in addition, to successfully utilize those elements separately and simultaneously in order to transform ideas into persuasive stories. Attendees will develop a basic understanding of operating a video camera, the skills needed to record great video and sound, creating balanced picture compositions, and understanding the three-point lighting system.

RATV230 Radio TV Workshop II

“Radio-TV Workshop II” is an intermediate course in visual storytelling. Attendees will learn cutting-edge techniques and artistic applications in cinematography. Throughout the course attendees will discover how a cinematographer interprets a script, the elements of mise-en-scene, camera configurations, creating aesthetically consistent shots, lighting for mood and stimulating different thoughts and emotions with video editing. Radio-TV Workshop II tends to make attendees effective visual narrators.

RATV315 Television Production

“Television Production” demonstrates the ability to apply advanced skills in television and video production, through the planning, producing, and recording of television programs and videos, as well as demonstrating the capacity to write script and dialogue. The course allows attendees to gain valuable insight on the theoretical aspect of the television production process from inception to completion by exploring all the different technical systems utilized in television as well as understanding the roles of the producer, director, and all other crew and staff positions.

GDES450 Advanced Animation

“Advanced Animation” covers the entire work pipeline for short animated film production (pre-production, production, and post-production). Throughout the course, attendees will develop a concept/narrative for a short film, write its script and guiding lines, create a storyboard with an animatic before moving into animation. Attendees will be working on one project during the semester and can choose one of the five main animation directions; traditional animation, vector-based animation, motion graphics, stop motion, and conceptual animation for installation art.

IVC Training Programs

The cost-effective and flexible IVC training programs are intended to encourage students, and professionals to expand their foundations of knowledge and stay up-to-date on new developments and disciplines.

The specialized certificate programs are designed to provide attendees with basic theoretical knowledge and practical skills to work in a variety of fields related to Visual Communication, such as Branding, TV Production, Art, and Online Media, to name but a few. Attendees will receive at program completion an IVC Certificate of Achievement. These programs provide an alternative to formal degrees, and at the same time, a supplementary dose of specialized skills meeting the needs of working professionals.
